If you are applying for a University Research Scholarship you should do so as soon as you submit your admission application and prior to the scholarship deadlines.

To apply for admission to a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) course at the University of Canberra, you will first need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the faculty via the HDR application portal.
If your EOI is successful, you will be invited to submit an admission application.

After you submit your application the faculty and Graduate Research will review your application, this could take several months. We will advise you of the outcome via email as soon as possible.

your referees are slow to respond
the faculty require additional time to assess your application.
