UniLodge manages the University鈥檚 student accommodation on our behalf, so do not be surprised if, when you click through our student accommodation pages to apply, it takes you to a UniLodge site. The University maintains a fabulous relationship with UniLodge and is confident that they manage our residences with the service and care required.

At 黑料网, we understand that transitioning to university can be challenging, and there may be times when you feel homesick, anxious, or stressed about finances or studies. These feelings are entirely normal, and our Pastoral Care Team is here to provide support. The team comprises representatives from UniLodge management, the residential life team, and the University's Medical & Counselling and Wellbeing teams. When you reach out, we will ensure you are referred to and supported by the most appropriate person to help you navigate through your difficulties. Please don't hesitate to reach out, as no problem is too small for us to assist with.

UC takes pride in offering the best pastoral care services to safeguard our residents. Every two weeks, UniLodge conducts 'Project 100' to check in with each resident (every week if aged 17) to see how you are doing. While we recognise that most of you are adults and may find this intensive, it reflects our commitment to ensuring your safety and well-being. For your convenience, you can perform a self-check-in by scanning a QR code every fortnight if you prefer. If you realise that you are not doing well, we will reach out to discuss your personal circumstances and refer you to the most appropriate help. Please be aware that no confidential information will be shared without your consent.

The University acknowledges and supports students who choose not to drink alcohol during their time here. We offer dedicated no-alcohol rooms and apartments, providing an ideal option for residents who prefer a quieter living environment or opt not to drink. If you would like to be placed in a no-alcohol room, please highlight this preference in your accommodation application.

New for 2024! The University embraces diversity and actively strives to ensure that all residents feel as comfortable as possible while residing at the university. Although LGBTQIA+ students can reside in any of our buildings, we now offer dedicated areas if you would prefer to live with like-minded individuals. Please highlight on your application if you would like to live in an LGBTQIA+ room.

We fully acknowledge that it can be challenging for parents/guardians when your loved ones move away from home for the first time, and you may worry about how they will cope. Please be reassured that we take every measure to ensure they are as comfortable and settled as possible. If you ever have concerns, feel free to call and request a welfare check. However, please note that while we conduct welfare checks, we cannot provide an update if we do not have the consent of your ward. Information will only be shared with a parent/guardian if we have the resident's permission on record.

Unfortunately, the University does not offer family accommodation, and therefore, we are unable to accommodate children or families.

In cases where a student may be 17 when starting university, domestic students are allowed to stay in student accommodation with parental/guardian consent. This is conditional on the student residing in a no-alcohol room, refraining from alcohol consumption, and participating in weekly check-ins. For international students aged 17, part of the visa conditions requires them to stay in homestay accommodation until they reach the age of 18.
