An innovative pilot of implementation that focuses on the development and implementation of a novel and low-cost eHealth platform to address mental health in the workplace from a multimodal perspective.

Measure It!
A 2-year project to gauge the effectiveness of wearable activity trackers and conversation. Designed to be viable for both patients and health professionals, it also empowers patients to take greater charge of their own health.

National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking
NBPU TIS is part of the federally funded Tackling Indigenous Smoking program. The program supports teams across Australia that use population health promotion activities to reduce tobacco use, improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A population-based study of the determinants of health and wellbeing among adults living in Canberra with a particular focus on aging well.
Using smartphones & Fitbits to reduce the risk of repeat heart attacks
One third of all heart attacks in Australia are repeat events, they are more likely to result in death and are costly. Cardiac rehabilitation participants who have experienced a cardiac event are encouraged to meet the physical activity guidelines to help prevent repeat heart attacks.
Behavioural nudges to encourage university students to sit less and move more – UC30
Associate Professor Nicole Freene and her research team from the Faculty of Health will investigate a co-designed nudge-based intervention (UC30) to encourage university students to break up long periods of sitting every 30-minutes.
Developing physical Activity and Sedentary behaviour thresholds for the Secondary prevention of Heart disease – the DASSH trial
Associate Professor Nicole Freene and her research team from the Health Research Institute, the University of Sydney and Linkoping University (Sweden) aim to investigate the relationship between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and heart disease using two studies to guide future heart disease research, policy and practice.
Implementation and scale-up of on-site pharmacists in residential aged care
This new model of care integrates on-site pharmacists into residential aged care facilities as part of facilities care teams. On-site pharmacists work alongside facility staff and conduct activities to improve medication management. In addition, on-site pharmacists work to enhance collaboration and communication with residential aged care residents and family members, staff, GPs and other prescribers.
‘Connect Up’ for young people
The Health Research Institute (HRI) is currently co-designing the 'Connect Up' pilot project with and for people aged 18-30 in Bruce and Belconnen to help strengthen social connection. The first step is to hear from young people about what it’s like to live in these suburbs.

Carer Wellbeing Survey
Providing critical information for researchers and advocates to build a broad picture of carers' wellbeing over time. This will allow for a better understanding of how to support carers and ensure their quality of life, as well as their ability to provide first-class care, is maintained.
